Craig McDonald, director of the Loves Park Water Dept. visited. He talked about projects in the area where they have been digging to lay new pipe such as River Lane Rd. He also talked about the new "smart" meters they have been installing. These allow for more accurate readings of water usage which will improve billing and should also result in residents receiving more accurate waste water billing. An additional benefit of the new meters will be detection of leaks; hopefully, the dept. can then notify the customer before the resident has a major problem. Thanks for the good information, Craig.
