Char from Just Goods

John Hurley introduced Charmaine from Just Goods.  She and her husband were practically founders according to John.  Char explained that Fair Trade is about creating opportunities for marginalized people and empowering the poorest of the poor.  They promote goods and products made in safe working conditions, especially products that are natural and not harmful to the environment, to help the people who provide them earn a “just” wage.  Many of these items may come from areas like Central & South America, Africa and Asia.  She and her husband have a long connection with Rotary; many years ago they were a host family for a student from South Africa.  Thanks, Char, for helping us to understand more about Just Goods and Fair Trade.
