With the City’s assistance, The Frankenmuth Noon Rotary club recently performed a service project to covert the light fixtures in the Scout Building to LED. 70+ fixtures were converted with over 200 new LED bulbs installed. 11 individuals helped complete this project in about 2.5 hours.

The City was very appreciative and Daren Kaschinske, Director of Parks and Recreation, submitted this letter to the Rotary Club.

"On behalf of the City of Frankenmuth, and the Scouts that use the building, I wanted to thank each of you for volunteering your time to work at the Scout Building.  Having those lights changed to LED will provide dependable lighting for years to come and help us keep down the cost of operating the building.  Our goal is to be able to continue to provide that building as a service to our local scouts, free of charge, and your work last week will help us in continuing that service.

For us to do that work on the lights with staff would have cost a significant amount in labor and would have taken us a long time to fit it in around our other work.  So this was a really big accomplishment for us, and we can only credit you for getting it done.  Thank you for putting "Service above Self" and helping with this community project."
