FROM OUR MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:
Our club members are dedicated people who share a passion for community service and friendship. Becoming a Rotarian connects you with a diverse group who share your drive to give back.
This Friday, you will be receiving a membership invitation letter. We are asking every member to think of one potential member to send it to. If you do not hear back from the person you send it to, pick up the phone and personally call them. They may need to be invited to 3 or 4 meetings before "signing on the dotted line." That's ok - we can be patient.
We have 4 members on our committee, but we have 46 other members to help us out - everyone is on the membership committee. As the famous Ray Kroc once said, "When you're green, your growing. When you're ripe, you rot." We need to keep growing - to keep green - or we will not be able to keep our club thriving in the community and abroad.
Please - forward Friday's letter to (at least) one potential new member. Share the gift of Rotary.
BluesFest 2022:
Thank you to all of our Waukesha Rotary BluesFest 2022 sponsors, volunteers and loyal attendees!! We had a great weekend of high quality music and the best weather of the summer!! We look forward to putting on a great music festival next summer at Naga-Waukee Park in Delafield, Wisconsin when Waukesha Rotary BluesFest returns on Friday and Saturday, August 11 and 12, 2023. Mark your calendars now.
PolioPlus Update:
Our 2022-23 goal is $1,500. We are off to a GREAT start so far. At our July raffle, we auctioned off two Brewer tickets for $150 and Rick Kobriger "promised" a Brewer win or said he would donate an additional $150. I am sad for the Brewers and sad for Rick - it was a Brewer loss - they just haven't quite reached their stride yet this season! At our August raffle we sold $126 in tickets. That brings our total to $426.
Our next raffle will be at our September 26th club meeting. I heard rumors of State Fair Cream Puffs - just saying....

District Grant Update:
The committee is going to arrange for the last Saturdays in September and the first few weeks in October to begin the work for the HAWS project.
The grant funds ($3,000) will be used to purchase shrubs, pollinator plants and tools to enhance the pollinator gardens in the Schallock Center. In addition, our members will assist in planting the shrubs on the property and removing weeds and invasive species like buckthorn from the wooded areas. As soon as we have the dates confirmed, there will be a sign up genius. Please keep an eye on your emails for more information.
