WAUKESHA ROTARY CLUB
June, 2023
THANK YOU FOR A GREAT 2022/23!
WE ARE GRATEFUL!  Our Rotary New Year will begin on July 1st.  Before the New Year celebrations begin, we would like to give a heartfelt thank you to our current Club Board of Directors, headed by Lori Kasun, our Charitable Fund Board, headed by Ken Genin, our Officers, Directors, Fundraising Chairs and all of our Committee Chairs.  A special thank you, too, to our Club Treasurer Brad Wells and Charitable Fund Treasurer Paul Senger for all the work you do on budgets, bill paying, checkbook balancing, etc.  Last but not least, thank you to each of you, our members.  With each of your unique talents and gifts, we have come together and "Imagined Rotary" in a way that makes the Waukesha Rotary Club vital to our community and Rotary International.  We make a difference - we make the world a better place for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.  Thank you to each of you for your Service Above Self.  Looking forward to a successful 2023/24 as we "CREATE HOPE IN THE WORLD."
Mark your calendars

Announcements
POLIOPLUS:
Our PolioPlus raffle will begin again starting the first week in July.  Our goal will once again be $1,500.  We are always on the lookout for raffle items (tickets, gift cards, beverages, etc.)  Please let Colleen know if you would like to volunteer to supply an item for 2023/24.  Thank you to Cathy Waller who will be supplying us with fresh State Fair cream puffs to raffle at our August 7th meeting!!!  For more information on Rotary International's PolioPlus program, please click on the link below.
FINE INSURANCE:
Tired of those pesky fines each week?  Let Colleen know if you'd be interested in purchasing fine insurance.  The cost is $40 per year and that guards you against all fines except for Rotary pin fines and scooter fines (leaving a meeting early).  But hurry - this offer won't last.  We will only be offering this opportunity starting now through the month of July.  This cost can be invoiced to your July 1st statement.

SPEAKING OF INVOICES:
All invoice payments are due upon receipt.  A few of you have outstanding balances for the 4th quarter (April/May/June).  Please take care of these as soon as possible to avoid the 10% late fee.  In case you didn't know, we do take credit cards.  You will find a "members pay here" box at the bottom of our website (fees apply).  Or you can write an old fashioned (and very welcomed) check made payable to the Waukesha Rotary Club.  Thank you for your prompt attention.

DISTRICT GRANT 2023/24:
The club has submitted a District Grant Application for a project for the Girl Scouts, to rehab/refurnish the educational area at camp.  District 6270 will let us know in July if the grant application is approved.

NEW ZOOM:
Our club has purchased our own Zoom account.  Starting July 10th, we will be using this Zoom account for our club meetings and any committees that wish to use it for their meetings.  Please contact Colleen for more information.

SPEAKERS:
We are always on the lookout for interesting speakers.  Please see Colleen if you would like to schedule someone.  (Please note that nonprofits are scheduled once per month.)

MEETING ASSIGNMENTS:
Please watch your email for the new calendar of assignments effective July 1st.  If you are unable to be at a meeting for which you are assigned, please, please find a substitute.  I will include a phone list with the calendar for your convenience.

COMMITTEES:
We've had a decent response so far in planning our committees for the new year.  Check your emails for the list of committees and job descriptions and if you have not already done so, let Colleen know which committee(s) you'd like to work on for the coming year.  We need everyone's help.
