Ren Olson, Director of Transportation, Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly, is presented with the Certificate of Appreciation as Guest Speaker at the weekly Houghton Rotary Club from President Kristina Coon. Along with the certificate 10 polio vaccinations will be donated in honor of Ren's presenting to the club.

Ren provided an inspiring presentation referencing the need for volunteer drivers to ensure the elderly of our community have safe and reliable transportation to and from doctor and medical appointments.
While the Transportation Program is a vital service provided by Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly it is but one of the many services offered to isolated and low-income elderly women and men. The programs are offered without any charge. The elders they serve are 60 years of age and above, have little or no social and family contacts, and live with very limited financial means.
Little Brother-Friends of the elderly is a national network of non-profit volunteer-based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. They offer to people of goodwill the opportunity to join the elderly in friendship and celebration of life.
Their Motto, "Flowers before Bread", expresses the philosophy that everyone needs love and friendship in their life. It is the human touch that makes life worth living.
