Despite what looked like a miserable weather day on Tuesday, May 16, a full field of golfers turned out for the 25th annual Fortis BC / Rotary Pro-Am Golf tournament at the Harvest Golf Club.  Light rain did come and go but didn’t dampen the spirits of the golfers, or their games.  Past President John McIntyre’s team, a late entry, emerged as the amateur winners, taking away the trophies and a great prize package from Cleveland Golf!  The winning professional was Brian MacDonald, from Fairview Mountain, who shot an impressive 8 under par 64 from the black tees!

As always, the real “winners” of this event will be our Club’s initiatives and major projects.  Thanks to all of you who were sponsors, served on the committee, volunteered, solicited sponsorships, donated items or participated in the tournament.  You all helped to make it the success it was.  It will take a while to get all the accounting done, but it appears that the tournament will, once again, raise about $170,000!

Don’t forget the Sponsors’ Appreciation Luncheon to be held on May 30, 11:45 am at the Coast Capri Hotel, Horizon Room.  If you were responsible for getting a sponsor yourself, please be sure to contact them and let them know we would like to see them there, as our guests.
