Guests – our guests today were Sheila Perapalkin from Kelowna’s Morningside club, Rod Tamminga and Jas Garib
 
Today we inducted Karen Brownlee as our newest member – Welcome to the club Karen!
 
 
Announcements
 
Palette of Penticton – this event is coming up January 27th and we NEED to sell tickets.  Tickets are $35.  Remember money raised at this event goes towards our $150,000 commitment to the YES project.  If you know of someone that wants to come and wants to pay via credit card.  Keith is now set up to handle credit card sales from home – please contact him at (778) 476-5456.  People can simply place a phone order using their credit card; then we will have their tickets on hold at the event. Debit card transactions have to be done in person with the card.   Bill Everden has confirmed that The Martin Street Gallery will sell tickets using Visa, in addition to cash and cheques.  Red Bag sales are cash or cheque only.
 
January 30th Dr. Patricia Strongst is speaking at the Shatford Centre at 2 pm Dr. Lingley-Pottie conducts clinical research in the area of distance interventions (behaviour, anxiety, nocturnal enuresis, recurrent pain; FASD; post-partum depression). Dr. Pottie is co-founder of the Strongest Families Institute. The aim of the Strongest Families system is to provide cost-effective, accessible programs designed to remove barriers to care and improve health outcomes.
 
  Randall Bamford received his 7th Paul Harris Foundation award today – CONGRATULATIONS Randall!
 
Our speaker today was Randy Cranston from the Soupateria who told us a few stories about the Soupateria and also mentioned that even he didn’t know some of the history of the Soupateria which was funded by our Rotary Club.
 
  The Chauffeur award went to Aaron McRann for all of his hard work with the YES project
 
  Sherriff – Ralph was our Sherriff and fined anyone that had no bought tickets to Palette.
Deputy Sheriff Natalie also mentioned that Ralph should be fined for wearing Ben Amos badge and Milton should be fined for wearing John Pankiws badge

Milton put in a happy buck that he mistakenly grabbed Johns badge while John is off in sunny California, Justin was happy to be going to a motorcycle show in Vancouver, and that the 100 Men reached 100 men and their next meeting is 5 pm on Wednesday January 24th at Bogners, Paul was happy about Justin’s haircut, happy to get his jacket on sale at Grant Kings and happy that the person that broke into the mailbox at the towers isn’t one of his clients……………………..yet, Bill Everden had a happy buck that George let him into the building when he left his keys in the condo while walking the dog, Randall was happy about his new PHF and challenged anyone that wants to know a little more about it to come chat with him, Natalie was happy to be leaving on holidays and happy for Randall’s Paul Harris, George was happy to be going on a bike ride with Paul and maybe a little scared, Ralph was happy to have had his 52nd year in this club and all of the challenges and changes and friendships and projects along the way, Michel was happy to be spending 7-8 weeks out of the country, Aaron joined Rotary in 2001 just when the Soupateria was being built and he was also happy that on Monday the YES project got their building, he also thanked Milton for being a huge support, Sandra was happy to have visited her sister in Sayulita and also happy to be leaving for the Caribbean, Sheila had a sad buck that Carole Farley from her club has been diagnosed with brain cancer, she was also thankful for the community that she lives and how wonderful they are and for being President next year so she can boss around some of the men in her club, John Vassilaki was happy to donate to the Foundation and happy to be leaving for Mexico, Lorne was happy for all of the new members in our club and happy about the next OK Entrepreneur night
 
  The 50/50 was $96 and the card was drawn by Bill Henriksen, he didn’t win the pot so the pot grows and Bill will be Sherriff.
 
Rotarians – I will be away for two weeks cruising in the Caribbean so there will be no Rotapen until mid-February  - Natalie
