Greetings Rotarians and Friends of Rotary
Our guests today were Sharlene Oslund, Alex Bodden(President of the Morning Sunrise club in Penticton), Jean and Dennis Jacobsen(from the Morning Sunrise Club in Penticton), Garry Hoolaeff, Carol Robinson, Brenda Lowe from the One Person Project, Marie Prior and Linda Metcalfe (previously a member of our club) and now a member of the West Kelowna club, and Dori who is the exchange student in the morning club.
Birthdays – Happy Birthday to Dano Vivarelli who is off touring the world.
August 18th and 19th is the triathlon in Penticton and Cal wants to know if you want to help with our booth – see Cal
June 20th is the Installation Dinner – Randall has tickets available for this – see Randall
Today we presented a cheque for $1000.00 to Brenda Lowe from the One Person project , their team helped us do all the cleanup of dishes and prep work of food for Lobster Feast – a HUGE help!
Camila our own exchange student was our speaker and told us about her last 10 months and a little about Colombia - FYI Camila LOVES Rice Krispy squares
Chauffeur Award – Sandra Krauer won the Chauffeur award for all of the hard work that she does with the Rotary Exchange program – Congrats Sandra!
Happy Sad Linda was sad she had to go to work, Erwin was happy about all of the medical visits they have made to people with cancer and everything in the Philippines, Cal was sad to miss next week’s meeting but happy he will be in Scotland, Tracy was happy her son graduated grade 12 with a bursary from Mr. Kampe, Barb was happy to have the members of the Sunrise club at the lunch meeting and mentioned there are Ribfest posters available now, grab one and put one up wherever you can, Justin was happy about the Lobster Feast fundraiser and also happy about the Westcoast Trail that he is going to tackle in July, Arnie was happy to be a new volunteer at Ribfest, Dennis was happy about our Lobster Feast fundraiser and the amount raised and happy to be a Ribfest volunteer, Dave was sad that he had to go back to Newfoundland for his dads funeral and then his younger brothers, Paul was sad that Barb is just coping, Joe was happy to have his grandson for 2 weeks and really happy that he only has 2 nights left
50/50 – the pot was $422 and Ben Amos got the chance but DID NOT pull the joker, he did not win and Natalie will be Sherriff next week as her and Ben split their money - so
