  Lake Chelan District Conference is October 27th and 28th, you can register for this Annual Training Weekend at www.rotary5060.com, The Fall training portion of the weekend starts Friday, October 26th and ends 4 pm Saturday, October 27th the event will be held at Campbell’s Lakeside Resort in beautiful Lake Chelan, WA
 
The District Conference in Kamloops next year will be May 2-5th, 2019

Shannon made an announcement about Oktoberfest – It is happening this year on October 20th at the new ballroom at the Lakeside Resort, Rotarians are asked to bring in a case of beer in CANS, and also any silent/live auction items they may have.   Please bring the beer starting the week of September 19th as Barb is away next week
 
Shannon also mentioned The Westjet Raffle and that we are just waiting on licensing, hopefully we will be able to start selling tickets November 1st
 
Don mentioned that the wine festival “Cropped” will be held October 6/7th at the Trade and Convention Centre – he asked for volunteers for the Saturday night as Friday is full – Brian, Marie, Karen and Paul put their hands up – IF you want to be a part of this event where you simply hand out glasses and paper at the front please contact Don Michiel smichiel@telus.net – also the dress is formal for the evening – men suits and ties, ladies, long evening dresses.
 
 
  TGIF Next Friday, September 14th at Gord Watsons home , Friday, September 14th
5:00 pm – Poolside at Gord and Helen Watsons home (or inside if weather is not cooperating), 135 Bighorn Trail (Heritage Hills)
BYOB and an appie – also children and grandchildren are welcome.  If you plan to swim bring a towel
 
Rhonda mentioned that she as our new Public Image Director has set up our club on Instagram so go follow us – she also mentioned that there will be a World Polio Day coming up October 24th – more details to follow
 
Milton talked about the new projects committee – he is looking for a couple people for the committee and also wanted to mention that the deadline for new projects will be mid-December
 
Michel talked about the International Committee and wanting to get a project off the ground this year
 
 
Brian just wanted to give a brief update on the Disc Golf Course that we raised money for a couple years ago, he ran into people using the course that thought it was awesome and they are having a lot of visitors using the course and enjoying it.
 
  Our speaker today was Aaron McRann who did a thumbnail about himself – it was great to hear about Aaron’s life and work and family..
 
 
  Sherriff – Joe was Sherriff today and fined Rhonda, himself, Natalie and Shannon for being Rider Fans, Tim for taking holidays from us and our bad O Canada singing, Bill for being a trend setter in a suit, Michel for trying to change the club to bilingual and anyone that was late for the day
  
laughcheeky  Happy Sad – Peter was happy that a miracle happened and 4 months later he got a permit for his wharf, Lawrence was happy to celebrate his 47th anniversary with his wife, John Vassilaki was happy to announce he was having a meeting at noon outside of city hall on Thursday, Milton was happy to be going to Cranbrook Monday to meet up with 3000 friends and 22 sports at the BC Senior games, Brian was happy his Pilates teacher is back but had to sit in the hot tub and recover, Arron was happy Brian was “giving it his all” at Pilates,  Ralph was happy for Noaks first day of school,
Bill Broddy had a few bucks, he was not at a funeral and not called by a bank manager but was entertaining the twin city from Japan hence the suit, Barb was happy to do a pop up bar for the Japanese that Randall and Sandra were running, Rhonda was happy to have a nomination from the Chamber of Commerce for the most valuable employee but sad that the GM of the hotel was forced to do it, Jon was happy that Brian has his tennis game back, Randall was happy to know about the new start time for meals and for Aarons thumbnail, Barb was sad to not be here next week but is going to Victoria for a BC Ribfest meeting, Lorne was happy to be taking off in his tiny home, Michel was sad Joe doesn’t enjoy French however he speaks Spanish too, John Kurvink was happy his house sold in Ontario
 
 
  We did a 50/50 draw for $269.00 and Rhonda got the chance to draw the joker but did not win.  Rhonda will be Sherriff next week
