Meeting Overview:

  • Guests: There were many guests today: Visiting Rotarians Liliana Sulikowska from Kindersley Rotary with her two guests Maria Woronko and Aurelia Woronko and Walter Zuk from Heritage Park, Calgary Rotary.  Also John Pankiw's guest was Dale Krusnel.  Ken Davis brought Jerry Briggs, a B52 Bomber Pilot visiting from Arizona, as his guest.  You can check out the plane at Penticton Airport until the weekend.
  • Birthdays: Fred Hendricks, Lori Motluk and Paul Varga.
  • UBC Visit: Rory McIvor announced that the annual UBC visit will not be taking place this year.
  • Pres. Cal introduced our speaker Dave Del Rizzo, President of the Peach City Community Radio Society, a not-for-profit society which is volunteer driven. The society was formed in 2010 and has 70 members.  To date they have live internet streaming and have applied for a FM broadcast application.  His "Raise the Radio" campaign is aimed to engage enthusiastic community members who believe that radio can give a voice to the community.  To find out more about Peach City Radio, visit www.peachcityradio.org.
  • Sheriff: Aaron McRann did an excellent job as Sheriff with many a fine for "loud" shirts, shorts and such!
  • Draw: The draw today was for  $560.  The winning ticket belonged to Past President Dave Smith but he did not draw the joker from the deck.
  • Camera was left at office so no photos today!!
