Business Meeting Overview

• Guests: As this was a spousal/partner meeting, there were many guests including Patty Rowe, Liz Davis, Charlene Oslund, Merle Hendricks, Jon Ferebee, Maureen Deyaeger, Sue Michiel and Jacinta Meikeljohn.  Other guests included Simon St. Laurent,  Mark Bedford and our guest speaker Janice Perrino. • Member Sandra Curnow presented a report on the very successful and below budget Pioneers Reception of April 6th.
• Birthdays: James Hare definitely topped up our Foundation quota with his birthday cheque for $92!  Gordon Herle also has a  birthday this week.
• Gusto Award was presented today to member Trev Grey-Dreaper, for a second time! Where did the moose head go?
• Don Michiel reported that he needed two more hosts for the Guess Who's Coming to Dinner evening and I believe he received two volunteers at the meeting!
• Janice Perrino, Mayor of Summerland, gave a very interesting presentation on the Hospital Foundation.  The exisiting hospital was built back in 1951 to serve a population of 10,500 but it now serves 90,000.  The business plan is complete for the new tower and we must wait until the Fall for government approval.  She is very optimistic that the new tower will indeed be built.
• Ben Amos had the winning ticket but did not draw the joker from the deck.  The pot is still growing in value!
