The Rotary Club of Rochester's Third Thursday meeting will be held at Northern Hills Golf Course on September 16 along with the annual Rotary Golf Outing. Reservations needed to be made by last week's deadline to be able to attend this week's meeting and lunch. No Zoom meeting will be available.
Join your fellow Rotarians on September 28th when the club will meet at the Rochester Golf & Country Club and on Zoom. The program will be presented by Ally Hanten Ebert, the executive director of the Jeremiah Program. Ally's presentation is titled, Jeremiah Program: Disrupting Poverty, Two Generations at a Time.

October brings a new format to the club's Third Thursday monthly meeting. Beginning October 21, there will be four groups that will meet each month:
-- Service group (work with community partners to find volunteer opportunities)
-- Learning/affinity (learn something new or share an interest)
-- Virtual (could be a book group, Ted Talk, etc.)
-- Lunch/socialize (host picks a restaurant or a location if it is a brown bag)
You will not be assigned to any particular group but will sign-up for the group you wish to join, and it can be a different group each month!
Club President Audrey Betcher is seeking a small group of Rotarians to lead the coordination of the new format. Responsibilities include finding volunteers to lead the groups each month. The plan is that every member of the club would lead something at some point. Here are few more details:
Topics and hosts change monthly. (So when you are asked to host, it will not be a long-term commitment.)
Sign-ups will be required for most, likely with limits depending on the topic/activity.
On the 2nd Thursday of the month, the different hosts will highlight their activity to showcase the different options.
We will adjust number/size of groups in the future as we learn more.

Last year, Rotary District 5960 began exploring resources to assist clubs working in the area of Diversity and making clubs more welcoming.
As part of the District’s effort to support clubs in this area, a *free* training session will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilder Center in St. Paul.
This training is a wonderful primer into this topic. The facilitator for this training is Rotarian Ellie Krug who will lead Rotarians with a discussion about understanding culture change and how we can make clubs welcoming to new members of all backgrounds.
We're less than five months away from tip-off of the 2021 edition of the Rotary Holiday Classic. That means our campaign to recruit sponsors and advertisers to help underwrite the event is underway. A $100 Kwik Trip card immediately creates $5 for the club and any in-store purchases creates another 5% donation.If you would like to purchase Scrip cards, send an email to romnrotary@gmail.com with how many and what denomination you'd like. In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards. The cards are purchased at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
