Join fellow Rotarians on Thursday, September 30, for a hybrid meeting at the Rochester Golf & Country Club and via Zoom. The program is titled Cradle 2 Career: the whole story presented by Julie Brock, Executive Director, Cradle 2 Career, and Jerome Ferson, President, United Way of Olmsted County.

The Rotary Clubs of Rochester STRIVE program is woefully in need of mentors - 60 mentors in all to cover students at Rochester's three public high schools. Sign-up to mentor (or donate) to this year's STRIVE program by filling out the form. Mentors do not need to be a Rotarian just someone who enjoys meeting with high school students and watching their progress towards graduation. Because of the unknowns of COVID, the STRIVE team delayed their request for mentors until it was decided if STRIVE would be in-person, which it is. And, now we are on a tight timeline. Please consider mentoring!

This midday meeting replaces Rotary After Hours. TRCR President Audrey Betcher will give an update on behalf of the Club's Board of Directors and formally introduce revised first Thursday meeting plans.
Monday, October 4 is the deadline for submitting nominations to serve as District 5960 Governor in 2024-25. Due to a rise in COVID-19 infections, interviews will be held virtually on Friday, October 8.
The District Governor experience is a journey of discovery. You will learn much about Rotary through the training and preparation, learn about Rotary in different parts of the world from the new friends you will meet from other Districts across the globe and most importantly you will learn and discover abilities and skills you didn’t know you possessed. The experience will bring out the best in you.
You are not alone in this journey. The Council of Governors, the District’s Board of Directors, District Team Leads and our District Administrator, Kathy Hughitt, are all in place to support you along the way. If you meet the qualifications below, consider sharing your knowledge, passion and experience in Rotary with our District by applying for this very important role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
You have been your Club’s president for a full Rotary year
You are a member in good standing
You have an interest in sharing your Rotary passion with fellow Rotarians
All nominations for District Governor must be received in the District Office no later than Monday, October 4, 2021.

August 26 - WSU-Rochester's connections to Global Health, Dr. Julie Ponto, Professor and Program Coordinator for the Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist program at Winona State University-Rochester
October brings a new format to the club's Third Thursday monthly meeting. Beginning October 21, there will be four groups that will meet each month:
-- Service group (work with community partners to find volunteer opportunities)
-- Learning/affinity (learn something new or share an interest)
-- Virtual (could be a book group, Ted Talk, etc.)
-- Lunch/socialize (host picks a restaurant or a location if it is a brown bag)
You will not be assigned to any particular group but will sign-up for the group you wish to join, and it can be a different group each month!
Club President Audrey Betcher is seeking a small group of Rotarians to lead the coordination of the new format. Responsibilities include finding volunteers to lead the groups each month. The plan is that every member of the club would lead something at some point. Here are few more details:
Topics and hosts change monthly. (So when you are asked to host, it will not be a long-term commitment.)
Sign-ups will be required for most, likely with limits depending on the topic/activity.
On the 2nd Thursday of the month, the different hosts will highlight their activity to showcase the different options.
We will adjust number/size of groups in the future as we learn more.

In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards. The cards are purchased at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
