Program:  DMC Projects and Community Impact
Presenter:  Jamie Rothe, Director of Community Engagement and Experience, Destination Medical Center
 
Jamie Rothe is the Destination Medical Center Director of Community Engagement and Experience. Jamie has had multiple roles on the DMC initiative since she joined in the team in 2013 when the DMC legislation passed. She is responsible for development and implementation of the community engagement and experience strategy for DMC the DMC district, focusing on building relationships throughout the community.

Volunteer for Rochester Rotary Clubs' Tree Planting Project
The Rotary Clubs of Rochester will host three whip planting sessions on May 1 between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Thirty-five Rotarians, family, and friends are needed for each session. Sign-up online beginning April 1. Here's how you can help:
  • Buy a Bundle of Whips for $10
  • Buy a 21 Tree Salute tree for $125 or share the cost of the 21 Trees Salute with friends
  • Be a Club Volunteer
  • Be a Whip Planter

Rotary 2022-23 Peace Fellowships Now Open
Rotary 2022-23 Peace Fellowships applications are now open.  The Rotary World Peace Scholarship offers 100 individuals committed to peace and conflict resolution the opportunity to earn a two-year master's level degree international studies, peace studies, and conflict resolution. 
 
Please consider who might be a good candidate for graduate studies or certificate in peace studies. You are encouraged to make sure they fit the eligibility requirements and support them in their venture. There is an electronic application that can be forwarded to potential candidates. The application page is self explanatory and mentors can follow through by checking the graduate program or the certificate program for the relevant eligibility requirements.
 
Applicants have until May 15 to submit their applications with District 5960 as their endorsing district. The Rotary Peace Fellowship Committee will interview candidates and, if qualified, endorse them for consideration by Rotary Peace Centers and the universities they select to attend. Community Service Opportunities with Salvation Army
 
The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to assist with a variety of community service opportunities. Days and shifts vary. Click on the "Read More" button for more information. You are encouraged to volunteer individually for any of the following:

  • Resource Room
  • Reception Desk
  • Lunch Program

SCRIP Cards available for purchase
Scrip cards to Apollo Liquor, Kwik Trip, and Menards are available for purchase to support The Rotary Club of Rochester. You purchase and spend the cards at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip, and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
