Happy Thanksgiving!  No meeting Thursday, November 25
YOU and the Rotary Holiday Classic
Sign-up to volunteer!  Funding of our club's projects depends on you signing up to volunteer at the Rotary Holiday on Tuesday, December 28 and Wednesday, December 29. More than 80 volunteers are needed over the two days to host the players and fans. Thirty percent of the net proceeds from this year's Classic will be distributed to the three Rotary clubs of Rochester for Rotary youth and education programs, and each club will have the opportunity to receive an equal share of those proceeds based on their (proportionate) volunteerism at the event. If a club staffs all required shifts to meet its volunteer requirement, 100% of their share will be paid out. Sign-ups will be designated by clubs only until December 10. If a club does not meet the requirement, they will receive proceeds based on the percentage of actual shifts worked. Remaining dollars will be distributed to the other clubs based on their percentage of volunteerism.
Register here to volunteer.

Purchase Holiday Classic passes or make a donation! Each Rochester Rotarian is asked to either purchase two passes to the Holiday Classic and/or make a $50 donation to the Classic. You can use EITHER this link or this link. If you use the first link, click "members" and follow the registration to the end. Don't worry about the note on the bottom saying you don't owe anything - that is if you have a balance forward on your Clubrunner account.  If you use the second link, be sure to click the $50 donation. If you wish to purchase and then donate your passes to a local non-profit vs.using them yourself, please send an email to romnrotary@gmail.com with your wishes for those passes! Members who make their $50 donation by December 10 will have their name listed as a supporter of the Holiday Classic.
Click EITHER this link or this link to make your $50 payment.
Register to ring bells for Salvation Army
It's that time of year, the bell ringing season for the Salvation Army. For TRCR members, there are two outdoor days with the remainder indoors.  For the locations with two doors/entrances, please find the proper door the day of the event.  If there are any questions, contact Rotarians Mark Neville, Mark Dripps, or Fred Suhler.
Sign-up here for bell ringing through December 16.
December 2 - TRCR Committee Meetings will be held during midday meeting time slot
The Rotary Club of Rochester will hold club committee meetings during it's midday meeting time slot at the Rochester Golf & Country Club on December 2 beginning at 11:30 a.m. If you currently are not on a committee or your committee is not meeting at the Country Club on December 2, you are welcome to join your fellow Rotarians for lunch and either socialize or sit in on one of the committee meetings and learn more about how you can become involved.

A hot lunch will be available for purchase. If you wish to pre-pay for your lunch, click here. You no longer need to sign-up if you are not pre-paying for your lunch.
December 9 is "Bring your Plastic" to our Rotary meeting day
Greater Rochester Rotary (GRR) has a new project, Plastics for Benches, and they are looking for your help. GRR members are collecting #2 and #4 plastic waste from Rotarians and local businesses. Instead of the waste going in a landfill, GRR is sending it to Trex, a company that uses the raw material to make decking and outdoor furniture that looks like wood but is plastic. When 500 pounds of plastic is collected and sent to Trex, GRR will earn a bench. The bench will be installed with the names of the recycling partners. The ultimate goal of this program is to provide more and more businesses with a recycling option for their plastic waste. What is exciting is how enthusiastic the businesses are to have this option. The project also raises awareness about recycling with a purpose. RECYCLING PARTNERS are Carpet One, Collins Feed&Seed, Fresh Thyme, Rochester Pet and Country Store, Rochester Public Library, Top Shop, Vikings Electric, and YOU?

TRCR is hosting a "Bring your Plastic" day at our meeting on December 9. Take a look at the graphic below and gather and bring those plastics to our Rotary meeting. A GRR member will be there to collect the plastics.

Buy SCRIP Cards for everyday use
Did you know that if you buy the majority of your gas at Kwik Trip, you could pre-pay for your gas AND help the club at the same time? A $100 Kwik Trip card immediately creates $5 for the club and any in-store purchases creates another 5% donation. If you would like to purchase Scrip cards, send an email to romnrotary@gmail.com with how many and what denomination you'd like. In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards.
