Drawing on the strength of their many similarities and complementary differences, Toastmaster International and Rotary International formed a unique strategic alliance in May 2019. The primary goal of the Rotary Toastmaster Alliance is for Toastmaster and Rotary club members to establish fellowship and make new connections.
As a Rotarian, one of the most straightforward ways to learn about this alliance with Toastmasters is to visit a club. You are warmly invited to attend a free and virtual Open House sponsored by the Rochester Technology Campus Toastmasters Club. The guest speaker is Jim Emery "The Vocal Jim", a Toastmaster and professional voice coach. On May 20th, 2023 exactly 50 years from the 1973 dedication of the Nature Center, we will welcome the community to celebrate and recognize this important milestone.
This event, free and open to all, will feature celebratory speakers including Friends of Quarry Hill Board Chair Peggy Edwards, Rochester’s Mayor and former Quarry Hill Board Member Kim Norton, Rochester Public School Board Chair Cathy Nathan, Former director Greg Munson and present director Pamela Meyer.
On this day we will also invite the community to join us for a day of conservation. Working with community partners we will plant 350 trees and shrubs, more than 360 native plants and pull pounds of invasive garlic mustard - activities that will protect the natural landscape and our outdoor classroom for generations to come.
Refreshments and custom seed packets that participants can take home to plant their own backyard prairies will also be a part of the celebration.

Thank you to all TRCR members who contributed to The Rotary Foundation's Annual Fund during District 5960's SHARE THE LOVE campaign. Over $62,175 was raised from the February campaign.
Your gifts to The Rotary’s Annual Fund will have a great impact on people in our communities and around the world. Because of your contribution, you helped prevent mothers and babies from dying, promote peace and end conflict, reduce disease, provide clean water and sanitation, protect the environment, create community economic development opportunities, and teach kids to read. Apr 21st-25th – CAMP RYLA – Thank you for supporting the opportunity for four students from local high schools to attend this year’s Camp RULA. Apr 29th –Tri-District Conference – – Get Registered. Click and get yourself registered for this tremendous, exciting event with a focus on membership and leadership. Madden’s Resort at Gull Lake – that’s the place for rooms. Click the link on the district conference website to book your two night stay. One night stays will ONLY be accepted by contacting the resort directly at 800-642-5363. There are 12 rooms in the block currently located in the Mission Point area of the resort. These 2 buildings are being opened up early just for our group to accommodate the 1 night stay requests. Anyone that will need a one night stay should contact the resort sooner than later. May 6th – Wacipi (Powwow) – White Beal Lake Rotary - The Wacipi will honor American Indian students in the school districts of Mahtomedi, White Bear Lake, North St. Paul/Maplewood/Oakdale and surrounding communities, particularly those who will be graduating in 2023, and will provide the larger community the opportunity to participate in this traditional cultural event that is a significant part of the rich heritage of our Native American neighbors. – Grounds open at 11 and the Grand Entry is at 1pm. Mahtomedi District Center.
