Many things have changed in our world in the last year, and our Rotary club has had to adapt and change as well. As we prepare to come out of the pandemic and as we near our century mark as a club, we think this is a perfect time to seek feedback from all members, work with the District’s Visioning Team to update our strategic plan, and make sure we are meeting your needs and the needs of the community as we continue into the future.
Please join us on Thursday, April 29, via Zoom for the noon exploration meeting where we will break into small groups for discussion to seek input from you in preparation for the District Visioning sessions. We want to hear from you!
Good weather is predicted this Saturday, so just another perk of signing-up to plant trees with your fellow Rotarians. The Rotary Clubs of Rochester is hosting three whip planting sessions on May 1 between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Thirty-five Rotarians, family, and friends are needed for each session. Plus, our club has two trees and 11 whip bundles available for purchase. How can you help?

The Rotary Club of Rochester (TRCR) is asking fellow Rotarians to help find our next club office administrator. We are looking for someone who lives in the Rochester area and can independently manage TRCR's office coordinating the administrative and financial operations of the club. The position is home-based, 20 hours/week with availability to coordinate the club's in-person Thursday midday meeting. The Club Office Administrator must believe in Rotary's mission, work well both independently and with club membership, be a strong communicator (written, verbal, social media, etc.) and have strong organization and technical skills (use of computers, Zoom, etc.) Salary range is $15-20 per hour.

Rotarian Karen Ricklefs was recently featured in an article published in Post Bulletin. Karen was a trailblazer, challenging expectations in a male dominated world and became the first woman School Board president in decades. In 1970, she attended her first meeting of the Rochester School Board as the lone woman member. Being new to the board, she had intended to be quiet. She wanted to listen and learn. But a topic arose that Ricklefs was well versed in, so she spoke up. To read the full article, click here.

Raised on a beef cattle farm near Sedalia, MO, Paul received his B.S. in Agriculture Education from Northwest Missouri State University. He was previously the Community Market President for U.S. Bank - Austin before being named Area Manager for Ag Resource Management in September 2016. Paul has worked in the financial services industry focusing on agricultural finance for over 35 years. Paul is a member of the Rochester Rotary Risers and their president-elect nominee.
