Do you collect Postage Stamps?
Calling all stamp collectors
Our club has a collection of Rotary stamps that was started in 1975. We're looking for any current club members or local friends of club members who have an interest in stamp collecting. We'd value your expertise as the club decides what to do with the collection.  If you're interested, please contact Sara Gilliland at scgill50@gmail.com or 507-259-4213
Volunteer Opportunity!

Family Service Rochester, Intercultural Mutual Assistance Agency, and United Way of Olmsted County have partnered with the residents of the Meadow Park neighborhood to create the Meadow Park Initiative. These partners along with the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant are organizing a summer camp for youth grades K-12 in the Meadow Park neighborhood and we are looking for volunteers! Here is the basic information:

Meadow Park Summer Youth Program: The Meadow Park Summer Program blends learning and fun! This summer program provides students with different hands-on learning activities. Students will experience a unique mix of learning and major fun. Volunteers are needed for hands on help with activities. Use this link to sign up.  If you have questions, please contact Michaela Allen at mallen@familyservicerochester.org

Dates: June 14th-August 5th *Dates are flexible to work with your schedule!

LOCATION: 1429 4th Ave SE, Rochester, MN 55904 (Friendship Place)

Michaela really needs some Rotarians to help fill the volunteer spots.  If you have a passion, she can find a good role for you in the program! You can help as much or as little as you're able!  Email her to discuss what you can offer the youth .

Mid Day Meeting Change
As you may have noticed, the last few meetings we have implemented a new meeting format.  For those of you attending in person, you'll have approximately   15 minutes to enjoy some socialization with fellow Rotarians.  If you are joining us via the zoom link, someone will be "leading" your social time.  (The room   will not be able to hear you on zoom during this time).  This is after feedback from members about wanting more time to visit and socialize now that we are   getting back to in person activities and events.  Please have patience with us as we work through the technical changes to this format! We hope you enjoy the   new change!
May 12: Mid-day Meeting - Human Trafficking
On Thursday, May 12, the speaker Clare Lillis gave a quick rundown of human trafficking in our region.  This is a growing concern, even here in our area of Minnesota.  His full presentation will be available for you to review soon.  In the mean time, you can watch the youtube replay.

Seeking host families for Rotary Exchange Student
The Rochester Rotary Clubs are sponsoring a male foreign exchange student, Ruben, from Spain to attend Mayo High School during the 2022-23 school year.  During the school year, three families within the same high school attendance area (or able to provide transport if outside the area) are needed to host the student from mid-August – early June (approximately August-November, December-March, March-June). The exchange student does not require their own room, as they can share a room with a host sibling of the same gender as long as they have their own bed.  A proper place to study is also needed and they are required to attend school.  Please contact Melody Trimble if you are interested in being a host family for the 2022-23 school year or for more information or questions.Melody Trimble, Youth Exchange Officer, thetrimbleotherhalf@gmail.com, 507-250-2579.

A student testimonial: Rotary Clubs of Rochester Ethics Program
For the past several years, the Rotary Clubs of Rochester have hosted an ethics program for area high school students. After a hiatus from the program because of the pandemic, the Ethics Program was back for the 2021-22 school year.  Take a few minutes to watch a testimonial video by one of the program participants.
