As people of action, Rotarians have a long history of creating positive change within our communities and ourselves. This 2022-23 Rotary year let’s each of us do our part to grow Rotary into the organization we want it to be and know it can be.
Service Above Self is our Rotary motto, and there are three service opportunities in the coming weeks where YOU can make a positive difference: Cradle 2 Career Education Summit, STRIVE mentorship program, and FUNdraising to support our Rotary Club of Rochester Community Foundation.
Cradle 2 Career(C2C) is hosting an Education Summit for its current Networks (Kindergarten Readiness & H.S. Graduation) on Tuesday, October 4 from 10 AM - 4 PM at St. Mary's University at Cascade Meadows. The keynote speaker will be Superintendent Pekel who will be sharing Rochester Public School's Strategic Plan. Several other presenters will be focusing on the Summit’s theme of "Sustainability".
C2C needs several Rotary volunteers to make this day a success:
- Set-up & tear-down
- Reception table (greeting & handing out materials) at start of day
- Lunch set-up & take-down
- Technology workers (examples: set-up, live video to overflow rooms, moderators for overflow rooms (comfortable with setting up Facebook Live & Zoom Chat)
- Art Project monitors
Rotary volunteers will have the opportunity to attend this event! When you sign up to volunteer, an event invitation and registration information will be sent to you.

STRIVE
Students Taking Renewed Interest in the Value of Education
STRIVE is a Rochester Rotary Clubs sponsored program for seniors who have faced some academic challenges but want to make the most of their last year of high school. Our number one goal is to help them graduate from high school and see the opportunities out there for post-secondary education through our mentoring.
As another school year begins, STRIVE is once again asking for your support.
We need a minimum of 48 mentors for this program with twelve (12) at each school.
Century Wed. 8:10 - 9:02 am North Cafeteria
Mayo Wed. 10:00 -11:00 am Same large room
RALC Tues. 10:00 - 11:00 am TBD
JM Thurs. 9:07 - 10:00 am Rocket Center
All meetings are on the second Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of each month.
If you can volunteer one hour of your time per month with a student who needs your mentoring, then you live Service Above Self. It is understandable that work and family schedules do not allow you to be a mentor, then consider a monetary donation to fund this program. Nonprofit Fundraising
You are invited to earn money for your club by volunteering at Mayo Civic Center.
Date: September 29th
Time: 6 -10 pm You can work 3-hour or 6-hour shifts.
Training: On-site that day
Need: 25 volunteers (We could earn up to $2500)
