The Rochester Rotary Clubs respectfully requested the City of Rochester to issue a proclamation to commemorate World Polio Day on Monday, October 24, 2022.
October 17th - Mayor Kim Norton will read the World Polio Day proclamation at the City Council meeting to be held at 7 pm.
October 23rd - City Hall dome lights will be illuminated in red &yellow in recognition of World Polio Day the following day.
October 24th - Look for the Mayo Clinic Plummer Building to be illuminated in red & yellow this evening in recognition of World Polio Day.

Rotary launched PolioPlus in 1985 and helped found the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) in 1988, when there were an estimated 350,000 polio cases across more than 125 countries in one year. Since then, cases have plummeted more than 99.9%, sparing more than 20 million people from paralysis. Rotary has helped immunize nearly 3 billion children against polio, contributed more than US$2.6 billion to global polio eradication efforts, and helped secure more than US$10 billion from donor governments.
Monday, October 17 - Mayor Kim Norton will read the World Polio Day proclamation at the October 17th City Council meeting to be held at 7 pm. Rotarians are encouraged to attend this meeting.

STRIVE is a Rochester Rotary Clubs sponsored program for seniors who have faced some academic challenges but want to make the most of their last year of high school. Our number one goal is to help them graduate from high school and see the opportunities out there for post-secondary education through our mentoring.
We still need 4 more mentors for this program with ten (10) at each school.

Rotary North Star Youth Exchange is a school year and short-term student exchange program that gives students and opportunity for an international cultural experience. https://northstaryouthexchange.com/students/
We are currently accepting applications from students for the 2023-24 school year and summer 2023 Short Term Program. Rotary is a premier youth exchange program. This year we have 35 students placed outbound and 44 students inbound to Minnesota and Wisconsin from 20 countries around the world. We also offer scholarships to students who have financial need. Please, encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity. Applications close November 9th.

In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards. The cards are purchased at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
