In recognition of our club’s 100th anniversary, we’ve set a goal of raising $10,000 to fund the benches that will surround the proposed Silver Lake Pool and Splash Pad area. To help achieve that goal, a member of our club has generously offered a Challenge Grant to contribute $1 for every $3 given by Rotary members. How does the Challenge Grant work? For example, when a member donates $100, the 100th Anniversary project will receive an additional $33.33 from the Challenge Grant. Overall, when our members contribute a total of $7,500, this Challenge Grant contributes an additional $2,500, and we’ve met the $10,000 goal!

NOTE: this month - White Oaks Park Clean-up is Thursday, August 22!
A small group of Rotary Club of Rochester members regularly clean White Oaks Park on the third Wednesday of each month (except in August) during the warmer months, usually beginning at6:00 p.m. for less than an hour. Why not join? A bucket or plastic garbage bag, gloves and good shoes is all that's needed for the clean-up. There is a sign in the park stating that the park has been adopted by our club. If you would like to help keep the park clean and be outdoors, come the next third Wednesday of the month. Address: White Oaks Park, 4597 55th St NW, Rochester.
The Jeremiah Program is grateful to have members of The Rotary Club of Rochester help bring families from poverty to prosperity two generations at a time. Cook 4 Kids is an integral part of Jeremiah families’ week – a chance for them to enjoy a meal they don’t have to prepare, witness the generosity of others firsthand, build relationships and comradery with other families, and gain more from the fifth pillar of the Jeremiah program – “Supportive Community.” Our club's next Cook 4 Kids meal is scheduled for Tuesday, September 17 from 4:15-6:30 p.m. Thank you for volunteering, TRCR members!

Four-person scramble, nine holes with cart is $32.00 All levels of golfers are welcome! This is meant for fun, not for competitive golf! Sign-up as a team, or individually, and we will put you on a team. All Rotarians and friends are welcome! We plan to have various prizes for golf. And so it begins, a new Rotary club was formally launched at a meeting conducted by the local membership in the private dining room on the Mezzanine of the Kahler on Friday, May 15, 1925. The news of the club's beginning was published by the Rochester Post-Bulletin.

Rotary continues as a force for good around the world with about 1.4 million members in more than 200 countries. Everything Rotary does starts and ends with Clubs. We need to take care of each other in ways that make our clubs simply irresistible and impossible to leave! Data indicates that retaining members is equally important to recruitment in achieving growth and we keep members by caring for each other. District Governor Ed Boeve is challenging each club in District 5960 to increase membership by at least 4%. Let's get to work by not only growing our club but by personally ensuring that each and every current member feels they are truly part of something special - The Rotary Club of Rochester.

Celebrating Our 100th Anniversary This year, we have a special reason to celebrate: our 100th anniversary! For a century, our club has been a pillar of support, service, and community impact. This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of every member, past and present.

Our members value the connections and relationships formed within our club. These bonds not only enrich our personal and professional lives but also create a supportive network that enhances our collective impact.
By inviting new members, we can expand this network, providing more opportunities for everyone to build meaningful relationships.
The Rotary Club of Rochester Let’s start with the Club’s income. By far most of the club’s income comes from dues. Other income includes money from the Foundation to support the salary of the Club Administrator who assists the Foundation. Happy Bucks also support the Club.
Then let’s move on to expenses for the club. Approximately half of all dues go to support the Rotary District and Rotary International administration. The dollars from dues and The Foundation support the salary of the Club Administrator. Dues also cover things such as licenses for Clubrunner and the website, Zoom, merchant fees for credit card transactions, taxes and insurance, postage, and new member lunches. (Yes, you can bring a prospective new member, and the club will pick up the cost of their lunch.) The Rotary Club of Rochester is a 501c4 organization which is a membership organization.
With the beginning of a new Rotary year, The Rotary Club of Rochester will celebrate its 100th anniversary! Throughout the remainder of 2024 and into 2025, we will recognize 100 years of club service locally as well as globally.
