Bob Nuss started his company in 1973 with 12 employees, Today, he runs a multi-million dollar business with more than 350 employees in nine locations.

Register and join your fellow Rotarians!

Location: Nuss Truck and Equipment, 6300 US 63 South, Rochester, MN
The above address is NOT where you will initially see Bob's equipment. Our meeting is about 500 yards north on the frontage road away from the machinery/equipment.

Directions: Head to the Rochester Airport. It is strongly recommended that you go to the round-about and come back on Hwy 63 where Nuss trucking is your first right turn, just off Hwy 63, head away from Nuss Truck machinery and equipment along frontage Road about 500 yards. Watch for the Rotary signs to direct you to the building where we will meet.

Bring your own lunch and beverage. Bob will provide a tour where you'll see a Mack-Volvo, a Touring Bus, and other vintage equipment in the museum while also hearing Bob's great life story. Need a ride? Call Colin Aldis at 507-269-4333.

STRIVE is looking for mentors
STRIVE is a select group of seniors that meets in-person six times during the school year to help high school students achieve their goals after graduation as well as five times virtually to support the students between sessions. Community members from the three Rochester Rotary Clubs will partner with students at the Rochester ALC. Each in-person session will cover topics like goal setting, budgeting, applying for scholarships, career development, and more.

We are looking for 10 Rotary Members to be mentors for the students at the Rochester ALC. Meetings will be on the 2nd Friday of the month starting in December from 11:30 am - 12:15 pm. Please reach out to Deb Christianson, Ellen Heydon, or Suzanne Dinusson for more information or to sign-up to be a mentor this year with the Rochester ALC.  Click for a downloadable flyer.
Mentors and Mentees needed for TRCR Mentorship Program for Young Professionals
Mentors and Mentees Needed: The TRCR Mentorship Program for Young Professionals initiative will begin its third year this fall. We are currently recruiting both Mentees and Mentors for this program. Space is limited for Mentees, so sign up soon -- plus we need one Mentor for each Mentee.

Mentees are actively being recruited for this program.  If you are a member of Rotary, new to Rochester, young in your career, or experiencing a career change and are interested in what this program has to offer we encourage you to sign up. If you know of anyone not in Rotary who might be interested in participating as a Mentee in this program for the preceding reasons, please encourage them to contact us.  Our goal this year is to provide opportunities for community service during this 100th anniversary year of our club, networking between group members and the club as a whole, professional development, including practicing impromptu speaking plus having some fun events planned as well. Mentees will also have the opportunity to learn more about Rotary, where we practice Service Above Self.

TRCR Rotarians to serve as Mentors, meeting one on one with a specific Mentee and providing goal directed guidance. You may also participate in the program activities in order to achieve your own personal growth.

If you are interested in participating or just want more information, email: Jaime Flores-Gouyonnet and Celeste Hofer

October 24 is World Polio Day

One Day. One Focus: Ending Polio

World Polio Day is a time for Rotary members, public health advocates, and all who want a world free from polio to come together, recognize our progress in the fight to end polio, and talk about actions we need to take to end polio for good.

STRIKE Out Polio

Rotary District 5960 is hosting a STRIKE OUT POLIO campaign with recognition points matches and Polio Plus Society opportunities!

WHAT: District-wide LOCAL events that clubs and individuals can participate in and engage the public, friends, and family to make donations to PolioPlus. Clubs are encouraged to get together and bowl at their local bowling alleys OR simply donate if bowling isn't feasible.

WHERE:  ANYWHERE you want! Support your local establishment, plug in the Wii at home, or skip the bowling altogether. There is no wrong way to STRIKE OUT POLIO.

WHEN: Anytime during October.
