Join your fellow Rotarians on October 7 for a midday meeting at the Rochester Golf and Country Club. After the business portion of the meeting, members will gather in small groups to discuss next steps to take in implementing the club's strategic plan. Club leadership is looking for input from all members to help the Board decide how to move forward with the plan. This midday meeting replaces Rotary After Hours.
Box lunches will be available beginning at 11:30 a.m. As previously announced, members are asked to pre-pay online for their lunch. Until further notice, cash or a check will be the only form of payment accepted at the meeting. Please note, you must sign-up for lunch via this link so an accurate number of lunches are ordered. The Rotary Clubs of Rochester STRIVE program is in need of a few more mentors to pair with students at Rochester's three public high schools. Sign-up to mentor (or donate) to this year's STRIVE program by filling out the form. Mentors do not need to be a Rotarian just someone who enjoys meeting with high school students and watching their progress towards graduation. STRIVE mentors will meet with their students every second Tuesday or Wednesday of the month and once virtually in a one-on-one during the month.

Because of the unknowns of COVID, the STRIVE team delayed their request for mentors until it was decided if STRIVE would be in-person, which it is. And, now we are on a tight timeline. Please consider mentoring!

District 5960 presents One Rotary Summits, emphasizing how we can Serve to Change Lives and the power of sharing our Rotary stories. The summit emphasizes the relationship among Membership, Public Image, and Humanitarian Service through The Rotary Foundation and is a unique and effective way to help club members understand and become truly engaged in Rotary.
October brings a new format to the club's Third Thursday monthly meeting. Beginning October 21, there will be four groups that will meet each month:
-- Service group (work with community partners to find volunteer opportunities)
-- Learning/affinity (learn something new or share an interest)
-- Virtual (could be a book group, Ted Talk, etc.)
-- Lunch/socialize (host picks a restaurant or a location if it is a brown bag)
You will not be assigned to any particular group but will sign-up for the group you wish to join, and it can be a different group each month!
Club President Audrey Betcher is seeking a small group of Rotarians to lead the coordination of the new format. Responsibilities include finding volunteers to lead the groups each month. The plan is that every member of the club would lead something at some point. Here are few more details:
Topics and hosts change monthly. (So when you are asked to host, it will not be a long-term commitment.)
Sign-ups will be required for most, likely with limits depending on the topic/activity.
On the 2nd Thursday of the month, the different hosts will highlight their activity to showcase the different options.
We will adjust number/size of groups in the future as we learn more.

In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards. The cards are purchased at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
