Join us at the club's next midday meeting on Thursday, September 9 at noon at the Rochester Golf and Country Club.  Box lunches are available beginning at 11:30 a.m.

September 15:  White Oaks Park Clean-up
September 9 Midday Meeting - Kent Pekel, Rochester Public Schools
The Rotary Club of Rochester’s program for its September 9 midday meeting will be presented by Kent Pekel, Interim Superintendent for Rochester Public Schools. His presentation is titled Rochester Public Schools: Where We Are Today and Where We Can and Should Go Tomorrow. The hybrid meeting will be held at the Rochester Golf and Country Club with box lunches available beginning at 11:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at noon. The meeting will also be available via Zoom.  Click here to sign-up to purchase a box lunch. A reminder that the club orders box lunches based on the number of people who sign-up to attend the meeting in-person and, therefore is responsible for paying for the number of lunches ordered.

Become a 2021 Rotary Holiday Classic sponsor / advertiser
We're less than five months away from tip-off of the 2021 edition of the Rotary Holiday Classic.  That means our campaign to recruit sponsors and advertisers to help underwrite the event is underway.  If you or your business have supported the Holiday Classic in past years, you likely received an email from co-chair Tamsen Leimer this week. Rotary in the 2020s:  Understanding culture change and gray area thinking
Last year, Rotary District 5960 began exploring resources to assist clubs working in the area of Diversity and making clubs more welcoming.
 
As part of the District’s effort to support clubs in this area, a *free* training session will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilder Center in St. Paul. 
 
This training is a wonderful primer into this topic.  The facilitator for this training is Rotarian Ellie Krug who will lead Rotarians with a discussion about understanding culture change and how we can make clubs welcoming to new members of all backgrounds.

A $100 Kwik Trip card immediately creates $5 for the club and any in-store purchases creates another 5% donation.If you would like to purchase Scrip cards, send an email to romnrotary@gmail.com with how many and what denomination you'd like. In additional to Kwik Trip, Scrip cards are also available to Apollo Liquor and Menards. The cards are purchased at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip and 4% back from Menards. The club receives an additional 5% on purchases at Kwik Trip, other than gas, inside the store.
