Rochester Public Utilities (RPU) provides water to the city of Rochester via pumping from 31 wells and five aquifers. RPU is the largest groundwater system in Minnesota pumping approximately 4.5 billion gallons a year. Todd Osweiler, RPU’s Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Coordinator, will discuss RPU’s proactive approach to water sustainability to ensure water quality and water quantity for future generations at The Rotary Club of Rochester's noon meeting on March 11. Fill out a bracket (or multiple brackets). Brackets were emailed to club members on March 15, or you can find and use your own printable bracket online.
Email your completed bracket to Kristine Ihrke at kihrke@soldiersfield.com by 11:00 a.m. no later than Friday, March 19.
Make a minimum donation of $10.00 per bracket. Donations can be made via cash or check made out to “The Rotary Club of Rochester.” Mail to the attention of Kristine Ihrke at Centerstone Plaza Hotel, 401 Sixth Street SW, Rochester, Minnesota 55902.
Rotary 2022-23 Peace Fellowships applications are now open. The Rotary World Peace Scholarship offers 100 individuals committed to peace and conflict resolution the opportunity to earn a two-year master's level degree international studies, peace studies, and conflict resolution.
Please consider who might be a good candidate for graduate studies or certificate in peace studies. You are encouraged to make sure they fit the eligibility requirements and support them in their venture. There is an electronic application that can be forwarded to potential candidates. The application page is self explanatory and mentors can follow through by checking the graduate program or the certificate program for the relevant eligibility requirements.
Applicants have until May 15 to submit their applications with District 5960 as their endorsing district. The Rotary Peace Fellowship Committee will interview candidates and, if qualified, endorse them for consideration by Rotary Peace Centers and the universities they select to attend. March is Water Sanitation and Hygiene month. March 22nd is World Water Day which is an Annual United Nations Observance focusing on the importance of fresh water.
Many of you have been generous volunteers during the Holiday Classic two-day event each December. The Classic has been a very successful fundraiser with proceeds going to local non-profits and Rotary projects supporting youth programs in our area. Thanks to Rotarians, like you, who participate and support the event, the Holiday Classic has given more than one million dollars in support of area youth! For that, we thank you!
A lot of time and effort goes into planning this event with work happening all year long. The Holiday Classic is in need of additional committee members! Specific needs include finance, marketing, logistics for event days, and seeking sponsors and advertisers, just to name a few.This event is a three-club initiative and members from all three Rochester clubs are invited to join the committee!

You purchase and spend the cards at face value, but the club receives 5% back from Apollo Liquor and Kwik Trip, and 4% back from Menards.
