Thank you from the Rochester Public Library
Thank you so much for your generous donation of books for the library. With the recent water leak at the library, the vast majority of our collection was spared, but our donated books were greatly damaged. Books donations are used to supplement the library collection, to fill mini-libraries located throughout Olmsted County, to add to the Friends Bookstore inventory, to sell online, or to sell at quarterly auditorium sales.

When our Friends sell books, the proceeds make their way back to the library to support programming and services. When books are added to mini-libraries, neighborhoods have greater access to reading materials. And when books are used to supplement our collection of over 440,000 items, community members are more likely to find the resources they need.

Thank you again for taking time to give back to the library and our community!

SAVE THE DATE: Great Events for Rotary Foundation Month!
We are all in Rotary to do good in the world.  In fact, “Doing Good in the World” is The Rotary Foundation’s motto!  The Rotary Foundation is the engine that allows us to do all that we do in our communities and throughout the world, and like any engine it needs “gas” to run.  The Foundation’s gas is the funds that our members and others contribute, as the more money we give the larger impact we can have on those around us.

It’s not only important to encourage each of us to give as Rotarians, but to showcase the impact we have through our giving.  After all, it does take money to do the great work we do.  Through showcasing our impact, not only can we educate our fellow members about the good work we do but, more importantly, celebrate that work!

That’s what is so important about Rotary Foundation Month in November!  The goal of Foundation Month is to educate and inspire all of us as Rotarians so that we understand the impact that our giving has…in our communities and around the world.
