Register here. Salvation Army bell ringing is a tradition of The Rotary Club of Rochester! Thank you for you interest. Many times, we are the nonprofit with the largest number of volunteer hours for this activity. "When you volunteer to bell ring, you help improve, and even save lives. The money dropped in a red kettle goes right back into your local community. By now you’ve likely heard that two hours of your time at a Salvation Army red kettle raises about $60 in donations." Students Taking Renewed Interest in the Value of Education (STRIVE) is a mentorship program created to motivate high school seniors who wish to improve their present educational status and life prospects. The program was developed on the premise that students who are academically ranked in the lower half of their class have the same natural abilities and gifts as those who are in the upper half. The difference is often motivation, work habits, self-esteem, attendance, and performance in the classroom. STRIVE challenges these students to improve their work, gain self-confidence and discover the satisfaction of achievement. Please contact the Rotary office (romnrotary@gmail.com) if you would like to participate in this program as a mentor or financial sponsor. |

Join us, May 13, 2019, 4-6 pm at Bear Creek Park Shelter Area (1237 Marion Rd SE). During the 2017-18 Rotary year, (then) RI President Ian Riseley set a goal for clubs to focus on the environment. The challenge worldwide was for each club to plant a tree for each Rotarian. The three Rochester Rotary Clubs decided to embark on a joint project to plant 300+ trees in the Rochester area, partnered with RNeighbors in cooperation with the Forester and citizen foresters, and met our goal. The goal was met but the fun continues in 2019! |
