INCREASING MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR ROTARY!

Corporate Membership Policy. The board is working to finalize a new corporate membership policy which will allow companies to have a corporate membership with up to four company representatives taking part. There will be a key point of contact for the company. Up to three other individuals can be included in the membership. We expect to finalize this in the next week or so with board ratification following some final editing by Seth Schuett, membership chair.

Annual Giving. Each year, all St. Louis Park Rotarians are invited to make a gift to the
St. Louis Park Rotary Foundation and to The Rotary Foundation. Do you know the last time you made a gift to one or both of our foundations? I welcome the opportunity to visit, one on one, with any Rotarian who is not currently supporting our foundations. It is our opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of others at home and abroad. Please take a minute to log onto ClubRunner and find out what you are doing to support Rotary. It’s your chance to help define your legacy! And if you don’t know how to log onto ClubRunner, we will offer a mini training session to get you registered with log-in information. Eric Anderson, our communications/web site guru will get you going!  We’re at 50% of our annual fund goal of $7600 and we have until June 30th to achieve this. Will you please help get us to our goal? Thanks.

Rotary Notes…A final thanks to all SLP Rotarians for their support of our Bundle Up! Winter Fun Day held Sat., Jan. 28. Again to Mark, Amy, Dave, Elmer and the entire Rotary team thanks. With the help of Nate Rosa and the Park & Rec folks, we made it a special day for St. Louis Park families. A special thanks to our event sponsors and raffle donors, too. And also Dave Syzmanski, who lives in St. Louis Park and works in regional sales for Hershey’s, who donated the BIG Hershey’s chocolate bar that was the talk of the raffle and the Hershey’s chocolate bars for the S’mores. That’s a job we all we would enjoy

Zone 28/29 Changes. We just received word that Zones 28 and 29 will be changing to provide a balance to the zones in terms of members. Apparently the changes are significant affecting our zones. More will be forthcoming on the plans which are to be implemented in 2020. We’ll learn more from Rotary Rod and DG Mark Hegstrom as time marches on.

In April 2017, St. Louis Park Rotary Club will celebrate its 70th anniversary! Our club has been involved in many global projects supporting initiatives involving nearly all of the above priorities of service. We also support local initiatives including the creation of Children First in the early 1990s, supporting youth activities from playgrounds to dictionaries for elementary school aged children. And our St. Louis Park Foundation has provided scholarships to College Possible Students through our program Operation Jump Start, supported local community celebrations and much more.
