Carrie Banks was hired as the Omaha women's basketball coach in April 2020. Over the last two seasons, Banks led the Mavericks to 14 wins.

Omaha made a run in the 2020-21 Summit League Tournament. With a 52-40 win vs. the Jackrabbits, the Mavericks were the first No. 8 seed to upset a No. 1 seed in the opening round of action. The Mavericks used a 69-55 win over No. 5 Western Illinois to advance to the championship game. The run came to an end with a 66-43 loss to No. 2 South Dakota. 

Banks comes to Omaha from Ohio State where she has been an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator for the last four seasons.

Banks joined the staff at Ohio State for the 2016-17 season and on the court, she worked primarily with the post players.  

As the recruiting coordinator, Banks landed a top-five recruiting class in 2019, and those seven players helped the Buckeyes to a 22-11 record last season and an 11-7 conference mark.  OSU was the runner-up in the Big Ten championship to top-seeded Maryland.

Your Service Fund in Action! Recently, Omaha Downtown Rotary participated in a multi-club grant project of purchasing and packaging nutritious meals for the food insecure in our immediate community. Omaha Downtown Rotary, Omaha West Rotary, and Millard Rotary, with Rotarians, family, and friends, packaged 25,000 meals in partnership with Kids Against Hunger. Here's a video recap.

Stephen Center partners with the community, families and individuals to overcome homelessness, addiction and poverty. Stephen Center has served the homeless and low-income in Omaha since 1984 through their three programs: Emergency Shelter, HERO Program and Transitional Living Program.

 

The Omaha Downtown Rotary partners with Stephens Center in serving hot meals to its residents.
