No Rotary Meeting, November 24, 2021
President's Pen

Rotarians,

The amazing speakers just keep coming.

Smart Gen Society was created to protect children from child exploitation via the internet as well as help empower children to make smart choices in a digital world.

Amie Konwinski, Founder and CEO, shared thoughts regarding online enticement, red flags for parents, and how to protect our kids' mental health as they are being immersed in an ever-changing technical world. This link provides more detailed information about the organization. https://www.smartgensociety.org/ She also offered to speak to other groups and organizations in the Omaha community so feel free to contact her if you are interested in helping her to spread the word about this important topic.

Amie shared she has 5 daughters who had been recognized by the Omaha Downtown Rotary through our 8th-grade honor roll program. She also had a couple of them who were participants in RYLA. Amie is so impressed with Rotary and the work we do that she plans to become a member.  As President and a fellow Omaha North High Viking, I am honored to serve as her sponsor.

With her membership, we are closer to achieving our club’s goal of 25 new members ( only 20 to go)! Thanks! I encourage each of you to bring a guest to a future Rotary meeting. It is the best way to expose individuals to what Rotary is all about.

Remember there is not a meeting on November 24th and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

See you on December 1st!
