February 2 Speaker Dr. Lindsay Huse
Dr. Lindsay Huse
Douglas County Health Department

 
Dr. Lindsay Huse is a Gering, Nebraska, native with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in 2019. Prior to that, she earned a master’s degree in public health with a dual focus on leadership and epidemiology and public health practice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015.

Her collegiate studies began with a nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2001. She also has worked as a public health nurse with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department. Before coming to Douglas County in July, Dr. Huse spent five years as the state supervisor of public health nursing with the Wyoming Department of Health.

Rotary Slate of Candidates
The Nominating Committee led by Immediate Past President John Sullivan recently submitted to the Board a slate of candidates for approval. At the Rotary January Board meeting, the board approved the following slate of candidates as recommended by the Nominating Committee composed of IPP John Sullivan (Chair), PP John Ewing, and PP Bill Harvey:

Omaha Rotary Awarded the Rotary International Presidential Citation
PDG Roxy Orr presented our club with the Rotary International Presidential Citation for Rotary Year 2020-2021, under the leadership of John Sullivan. The Presidential Citation is a coveted recognition at the international level. Omaha Rotary exceeded the RI's expectations and met all the goals during the 2020-2021 Rotary year in the areas of membership growth and engagement, service to the community, and support to the RI Foundation. IPP John Sullivan thanked club members for all their hard work and dedication as Rotarians. DG Carol Horner was on hand to congratulate IPP John Sullivan and the club.

First Meeting in 2022 was Fun
January 19, 2022, was our first meeting of the year, and it was fun! PP Bill Harvey filled in for President Aileen Warren, who celebrated her birthday that day in Florida. Thank you to everyone who attended and special thanks to all our Past Presidents who funded the unlimited wine that day.
