President's Pen

Rotarians,

Our club’s most recent speaker was an individual who is very passionate about her work and organization. Evell Thomas, of the Child Savings Institute, gave an impactful presentation regarding the work and services provided by CSI. She has been with CSI for over 30 years and is certainly one of its best advocates when it comes to sharing the organization’s history, its evolution, and how they currently make a difference in the Omaha community.  CSI is another great example of the good being done to help others, especially children, in need.

For those of you have signed up to help with the 8th grade Rotary Program, thanks again for your willingness to serve. I will be convening a meeting soon to share next steps. I am so excited the club has decided to continue this program. Even though it will look a little different next year, I am sure it will be a success due to our club volunteers.

Finally, for those of you who have not paid your dues yet this year, please do so as soon as possible. If you are not sure whether you have paid or not, contact Yolanda and she can provide information on your financial history status.

See you on Wednesday!

Aileen Warren

PDG Gary Bren is Joining the Tour de Tucson to End Polio
Click here to support our vey own PDG Gary Bren.
Club member,  past President, and past District Governor Gary Bren made a commitment late last year to ride in the 2021 Ride to End Polio that is part of the Tour de Tucson on November 20th.   He’ll be riding 102.6 miles in support of Polio Eradication.  Here is the ride he’ll be doing. He committed to doing this ride because he believes that it’s never been more important for us to focus on finishing Rotary’s battle to end Polio.  This is a critical time, as there have only been two cases of wild Polio virus this year.  It’s easy for everyone to relax and step back because of that…but in reality, now is the time we have to double our focus.
