Salvation Army Night Watch

Lindy Hoyer has been in touch with the Salvation Army in regards to their winter watch food distribution program. She has signed our club up to serve on 5 nights beginning in December through February. Each shift will require 3 club members to sign up, two will be serving food and one will be the jump (person who organizes crowd outside and hands out clothing). At this time no drivers are needed. The shifts start at 5:45 p.m. at the SA Western Divisional Headquarters, 10755 Burt Street. If new to volunteering for SA, need to arrive a bit early to fill out paperwork. The shifts each night are from 5:45-8 p.m. Volunteers must bring and wear a mask, wear warm clothes.

  • The six semifinalists will be pared to three finalists on Dec. 22. The recipient of the 75th Outland Trophy will be announced during ESPN’s The Home Depot College Football Awards on Jan. 7, 2021. The official presentation to the winner by the Greater Omaha Sports Committee is January 13th .

Special Agent-in-Charge Eugene Kowel

FBI Omaha Field Office

Feb 17, 2021

Director Christopher Wray has named Eugene Kowel as the Special Agent in Charge
of the Omaha Field Office in Nebraska. Most recently, he served as Special
Assistant to the FBI's Executive Assistant Director for Intelligence and Section Chief
of the Intelligence Branch's Executive Staff Section in May 2019.


In this position, he ensured the Intelligence Branch successfully provides strategic
direction and oversight for the FBI's Intelligence Program and maintains collaborative
partnerships within the organization and throughout the intelligence, law
enforcement, and private-sector communities.


In March 2019, SSA Kowel was appointed to lead the Strategic Realignment Project
Management Office as Section Chief. He previously served as Assistant Special
Agent in Charge in the Los Angeles Field Office, leading 10 squads investigating
violent gangs, transnational organized crime, violent crime, and crimes against children.


From March 2013 to September 2016, SSA Kowel served as the Supervisory Senior Resident Agent
responsible for the Savannah and Brunswick Resident Agencies attached to the Atlanta Field Office,
overseeing all criminal and counterterrorism investigations in a 19-county region in the state of Georgia.
Prior to his arrival in Savannah, SSA Kowel served as Unit Chief in the Counterterrorism Division, International
Terrorism Operations Section I. He completed deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of the FBI's
counterterrorism mission. He began his career in the New York Field Office leading criminal and
counterterrorism investigations.


Prior to joining the FBI, SSA Kowel served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney's
Office.


SSA Kowel and his wife Elysia have three children: Shaina, Talia, and Abraham.
