USGA Senior Open
Apr 14, 2021
Colleen Fink and Kasey Heaton work for Bruno Event Team in conjunction with the United States Golf Association, preparing for the 41st U.S. Senior Open Championship. The championship will be held July 5-11, 2021 at Omaha Country Club. Omaha hosted the U.S. Senior Open back in 2013, and it still remains one of the most successful Senior Opens to date, with record-breaking attendance. Colleen Fink is the 2021 USSO Championship Manager, overseeing the Volunteer Program consisting of 1,600 volunteers working the week of the championship. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Colleen moved to Omaha from New York in the summer of 2020 to start onsite preparations for the championship. Kasey Heaton, is the 2021 USSO Operations Manager, overseeing all operational and logistical aspects of the site build and ticket sales. A native of Sioux City and Iowa State graduate, Kasey came onsite in Omaha in February of 2020. This year will be the 41st U.S. Senior Open Championship. Rich in history and tradition, we will be sharing facts about the championship itself, history, and what goes into putting on a major golf championship. We will also be discussing ways locals can experience the championship, through ticket, hospitality, and volunteer opportunities. The U.S. Senior Open is excited to be back in Omaha, and we hope to see as successful of a championship as we did in 2013. |

As previously announced, we will use April 28 in-person meeting as our trial run for our May 5th meeting. Chief of Police Todd Schmaderer, who will be our speaker on April 28, indicated that he would come in person, so it's a good time to meet to prepare for our return to in-person meetings. The Field club will be serving a delicious lunch of Chicken Picatta. It will be a plated lunch. Up to 40 Rotarians and guests can be accommodated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Because of the limited number of up to 40, YOU MUST REGISTER to attend in person. If you are not eating lunch, please leave a note on the Comments field before finishing your registration. Otherwise, food will be ordered for you. We appreciate your patience in taking these extra steps. For any questions, please contact Yolanda at omaharotary@pm.me or call/text/vm at (402) 577-0091. |

Preparation. Students will receive packets with a bumper sticker, their letter of honor, the program, their certificate, and a pen. To make that happen, we'll be preparing packets at Gary Bren's house on May 2nd. We need the assistance of 6-8 volunteers to help with packet preparation. Food and wine will be generously provided. We have 58 schools that the packets need to be delivered to between May 3rd and May 10th. Ideally, we need 14-15 volunteers each willing to deliver to 3-5 schools. Assistance with this is vital to the success of the event. Sign up if you're interested in volunteering. First come, first served, on school assignments for deliveries.
