This past Thursday, 09/04/2, we had the pleasure of hearing from one of our fellow members Holly Callen speak on the Rotary Foundation, after all, November is The Rotary Foundation month! During our meeting, we specifically talked about the Annual Fund of the Rotary Foundation.

This year we have a goal of raising $25,000.
So why give?
According to Charity Navigator, we are currently rated 99.4% and earning a 4/4 star rating. Cliff Dochterman (past President of Rotary International, and serving in almost every Rotary assignment, from Berkeley Rotary Club) wanted to make it a goal that we can always have peace of mind and "give with confidence" that your money will be going towards a good cause and be put to real use in helping solve issues in our community and giving back. You may not see the Rotary being in sponsored ads on TV because we would rather use that money to put to more use than use millions marketing that way and instead, the market in other ways. Also according to Charity Navigator, our Finance has a score of 99.16, Accountability and Transparency with a score of 100, and a score of 100% for both Leadership & Adaptability and Culture & Community! In the past Rotary International has even been the #1 Charity of the year!!

How does it work?
We give $$$ to the Annual Fund.
- 5% is accredited for operations
- 45% is credited to the World Fund
- 45% is credited to the District Designated Fund (DDF); fun facts: our district has done $3 million for projects, we have sent several members internationally for projects, and the money comes back to us through DDF because it is allocated directly to our District and is used for grants to clubs for local and international projects
- Matching Grants are available from the World Fund

How can I give?
With being a member with EP Noon Rotary, you have the option to add it to your quarterly dues -talk to Mike. You can also give through Rotary Direct and have a set amount of your choice to give monthly, quarterly, or annually and that would be taken out automatically. There is also an option to write a check or even do stocks, bonds, or mutual funds! You always have the option to cancel or change the amount at any time if you are unable to keep contributing the same amount or would like to contribute more.

Thank you, Holly, and everyone else who helps contribute to the club and most importantly, our community! If you have any new fundraising ideas or are inserted in being a part of these service projects and our club or are just interested in attending a meeting to see what we are all about, please reach out!
