Mayor Harpole

Paul Harpole, Mayor of Amarillo, is a very popular Mayor re-elected three times.  Paul spoke of his passion for the city of Amarillo and all the projects and plans he has put in place with his council to create a sustained path for growth and for security of the city.

Paul's goal is to secure a city free of debt, with an infrastructure that promotes and enables sustainable growth for generations to come.  His desire is to create a city that is friendly for family and visitor by maintaining beautiful parks and an inviting downtown area for shopping and entertainment.

Paul has made it a priority to properly maintain the lifeline of the city, the sales tax income stream. (Mary Stephens 433-7416) By having a vision for Amarillo, Paul and the city council work to efficiently manage utility, water, sewer and road infrastructures.  Letting these systems decay as some cities have results in the costs becoming prohibitive.  Amarillo, by updating older infrastructure in a timely manner, is moving into a more efficient and cost saving city management that has huge impact on the citizenry life style and living standard.

The wow moments that really are a spectacular example of Paul's vision:
  • Expansion of the Civic Center into a full modern Convention Center
  • Rebuilding the loop 42 miles around the city including new Helium road portion
  • Major utility projects to accommodate growth all around the city

WE thank Paul for not only being a visionary and great advocate for Amarillo but his exceptional valor as a veteran of the Vietnam War. (Clara Webb 374-6406) Amarillo is blessed to have such a fine leader.

We had no one draw the Ace of Spades last week for the big pot so it just got bigger, $3357.00.
