Very special thanks to last week’s speaker, the renowned and revered Larry Kain! Larry Masterfully laid out the plan for this year’s golf tournament and made it clear how each of us could have a Championship run as long as we are Open to asking for sponsorships. Sorry – just dropping a few overly-forced PGA references in there for fun! In all sincerity though – PLEASE do start asking early and often for golf tournament sponsorships. If you need help understanding how and where to start, resources abound! You can re-watch last week’s meeting, you can re-read the follow-up email that Donna sent out, you can contact your team leader (reference the attachments in that email from Donna), you can contact Larry or any of our historical all-stars like Jarod, Currie, or Michael.  …Resources ABOUND, I tell you!
This week’s speaker will be Williamson County Schools Superintendent, Jason Golden. We are super excited to have him back with us to present an update on what this past year has been like for WCS as well as what the road ahead looks like.
And as a VERY important reminder – we return this week to our “Hybrid” meeting format we used last fall. Those who have already pre-registered through Jack’s Google Forms survey that went out earlier this week will meet in person at SpringHill Suites in Brentwood while we continue to encourage everyone else to join via Zoom. For those who will be attending in person, please remember that our previous protocols all remain in place (max of 4 per table, remain socially distanced, masks required unless actively eating/drinking, etc.) And again – if you are feeling in any way symptomatic for COVID19, please stay home and join via Zoom. One newly implemented item is that we will now also have a sign-up sheet at the welcome table that will ask you to verify that you can answer negatively to all of those symptom/contact questions we’ve now become so familiar with. It’s SOOOOO EXCITING to be able to offer an in-person meeting option again, but please do respect the health of others in the club and community by strictly adhering to our health protocols.
Thank you! I’m excited to see you all either on Zoom or in person on Friday!

2020 Rotary Golf Classic - A Success!

2020 Rotary Golf Classic

Declared a Success!

On September 21, 124 golfers gathered on a beautiful sun splashed day at the Brentwood Country Club to compete in the 4th annual Rotary Golf Classic. Assisted by 17 Rotary Club members working the event under the leadership of Suzie Lindsey, everyone had a fun day and the tournament was a financial success for the club’s foundation. For the 3rd year, LBMC was our presenting Sponsor and their contribution makes the tournament work, they’ve been a great partner for us.

In a year with many unknowns, the club members were able to sell 176 sponsorships which totaled in excess of $ 115,000. After expenses for the tournament, the BRCCF saw a net profit of $ 82,000 which will be used to fund Grants to local and other organizations around the world. Our Funding Partners this year, Graceworks Ministries, Saddle Up!, and BrightStone will each receive a generous donation for their ongoing, good work in our community.

With Michael Kaplan leading his Sales Team with personal sales of $ 10,550 (14 Sponsors), the Kaplan Team set a new Team Sales record of $ 18,330! Congratulations to Michael and his team for a sensational effort. Jennifer Bourne’s team finished 2nd, but also eclipsed the prior team sales record with sales of $ 12,700 – great job Bourne Team!!

We look forward to next year with new ideas and plans knowing that this event has yet to reach it true potential as a fund raiser for our club. Come be a part next year and join the fun!
