We had a nice tasty meeting at Pat’s on Wednesday evening. We voted to donate $1,000 to Rotary International for Polio Plus of which about $315 was raised by our Polio Fundraiser, $250 to the Congregational Church for Thanksgiving baskets, and $80 to the Chamber of Commerce to support the buoy project for local fishermen. We are working on building a slate of officers and board members for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023. If you’d like to be more involved by participating as an officer or board member, please let me know. In particular, we’re looking for someone to be club president next year. Past presidents are welcome to serve a second term. Whoever is president will receive plenty of support from other club members including covering for them when unable to attend meetings.
As noted above, the club is supporting the Thanksgiving Basket Project through the Bar Harbor Congregational Church again this year with a financial contribution. They will be sorting all the donated food on Saturday morning, November 19, and would like volunteers. Contact Scott Hammond at 350-1091 if you would like to help.
Several volunteers including Annette, Lynn, Martha, and Lisa Anne are working on plans for a Holiday gathering which will take place at our December 7th evening meeting. Stay tuned for more details and let them know if you’d like to help.
The speaker at our November 9th noontime meeting will be Judy Wofold from the Hospice of Hancock County. Make plans now to join us at Atlantic Oceanside at noon on Wednesday to learn about the great things being done by the Hospice. We’d love to see you all. And we’ll be especially pleased to see some members that we haven’t seen for a while.
Thanks and best wishes,
Quarterly President Ron
