Due to the pandemic, we are currently meeting via Zoom. Join us on Wednesdays at 12:15 p.m., except for the first Wednesday of the month when we meet at 5:00 pm (check Facebook or the speakers list on this page for the topics presented).
This week we will be having a virtual social hour via Zoom, on Wednesday October 7th at 5 p.m. Do you have a favorite fall beverage recipe to share this week? When the weather turns chilly, I love the smell of a fireplace blended with the sweet and spicy aroma of mulled wine warming on the stove. It immediately takes me back to my youth, enjoying brisk days in the Scottish highlands with my beloved grandfather. I look forward to seeing and learning how you enjoy the autumn season! Recently, our Past President Susy Del Cid - Papadopoli shared with me an exciting update on the wheelchair project in Panama. While no one will be traveling from Maine due to the pandemic,
the wheelchairs have arrived and will be distributed by January 2021. Our club will be sending a financial contribution to the partner club in Panama, to assist with their efforts. Below is an image of the chairs being unloaded. Thank you, Susy, for your continued work on this project!
Finally, I would like to acknowledge the hard work of Rotarian Dean Read. First organized by Tony and Anne Mourkas in 1982, and now managed by Dean and many volunteers, The Cadillac Challenge Century bike ride covers most of the roads on MDI with a loop through Acadia National Park, and finishes atop Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the East Coast. Thank you to all the Rotarians who gave up their Sunday to support this special event!
