We had a nice joint club and Board meeting at Pat’s Pizza last Wednesday evening with a visiting couple from South Carolina in attendance. In addition to good food and company, we voted to make donations of $750 to Kid’s Corner to help with their purchase of a new water heater, $750 to the Seal Cove Auto Museum towards their new theme, and $700 to the YMCA which is the balance to earn a banner in the gym for the next year.
Annette filled us in on plans for a Polio event that Susy has organized which is the movie Ghostbusters at the Criterion at 3 PM on Sunday, October 23rd. Please pass the word and let’s see how many we can get to come see this classic 1984 film and help raise funds for Polio.
Our speaker this Wednesday, Oct. 12th will be Alf Anderson from the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce who will give us an update and talk about fall/winter events. I hope to see you all this Wednesday.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Olena Morhun fled with three of her children and made her way to Puławy, Poland. There they were welcomed by Krystyna Wilczyńska-Ciemięga, one of many Rotary members who have opened their homes to refugees.
