Please join us on Wednesday, Dec. 14th, at noon at the Atlantic Oceanside. Our speaker will be Raney Bench from MDI Historical Society. We will also hear a report from our club members who participated in the second MOB service project on Saturday morning, Dec. 10th. This project consisted of helping to winterize a person's home.
I’m taking a head count for meetings on Dec. 21 and 28. Please let me know if you plan to attend these meetings. If we can get at least 10 members to commit, then we will go ahead with the meetings. I plan to let Atlantic Oceanside know our plans at the conclusion of our meeting on the 14th.
Watch for an email asking members to vote for officers for next year. I’m very happy to say that Lynn Verrill has agreed to serve as President. At our last Board meeting, the Board voted to renew our contract with Atlantic Oceanside with meal cost going to $17.50. Effective January 1st, we will increase the lunch charge from $17 to $18 to avoid having to deal with coins. The extra $.50 will go towards club operations.
Several club members attended the funeral for Don Allen on Friday, Dec. 9th. Don was my sponsor into the club, was a past president and served as treasurer for many years. He will be missed.
Our club made several donations recently including $2,650 to The Rotary Foundation for Every Rotarian Every Year consisting of donations and matching from 20 club members, $1,000 to the Benni Fund at the YWCA including $150 from club members collected at the Holiday Party, $360 to Interact to purchase a giving tree and decorations, and $250 to Camp Capella from fines collected from September through November.
You should have received an invite from member Lisa Anne Thompson Taylor to her open house party at her home at 38 Nutting Lane, Trenton, from 3-6 PM on Saturday, Dec. 17th. Please RSVP to Lisa if you plan to attend. For more details, look for her email dated Dec. 5th or let me know and I can forward a copy.
It was great seeing the members who attended the Holiday Party at the YMCA on Dec. 7th. Thanks to Annette for leading the organization of this gathering and to Ann Tikkanen for hosting us at the YMCA.
If you haven’t been to a meeting for while, then I encourage you to come to the next meeting to enjoy the association, good food, and service projects.
