Again, a reminder of our Rotary picnic at Dean and Penny’s house this Wednesday, August 3, from 5 to 7:30 pm. Please come and enjoy fellowship and a meal, but just come for a drink and a chance to say hello if you can’t stay long. I appreciate all of those members who reached out to me. I am waiting to hear from the rest of you. You can email me at scott_hammond@hotmail.com or text me at (207) 350-1091.
Also, I glanced through this month’s magazine and noticed that the club highlighted at the beginning of the magazine is the Rotary Club of Copenhagen, Denmark. This is one of the cities that Debby and I visited last month, and I recognized the area where the picture was taken. The Copenhagen club meets on Wednesdays and is the oldest club in Denmark. Denmark’s princess Benedikte they say is “an avid supporter of our club and participates in many meetings and events”. While there, I learned that Queen Margerite of Denmark is well-loved and has been on the Danish Throne for over 50 years. I wish I had taken the opportunity to visit the club. Past President Lisa Horsch-Clark is always telling us about the clubs she visits when she is traveling. I wonder if she has seen a princess at a meeting?
