Hello, everyone!

This week’s meeting is the first in our monthly ‘service from the chair’ meetings, which will hopefully help us to remember one of the main parts of Rotary International, “Service Above Self.”

As we all know, “The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise.”

By having a monthly (mostly) “service from the chair” project, we provide community service because we’re helping to improve people’s quality of life and by doing it together during a meeting, we’re also creating stronger relationships between us, which is part of club service.

I’m really looking forward to hearing any of your ideas about these sort of projects and meetings.

Thanks so much! And I’ll see you on Wednesday!

Best wishes,
Carrie

THIS WEEK’S MEETING IS SERVICE FROM THE CHAIR

We’re starting off our monthly “Service From the Chair” meetings with a few requests for cards and encouragement for active duty soldiers. If you have any encouraging cards, funny cards or stationary, please bring it to use!

This is a note from one of the moms who is asking for help for her soldier:
My soldier just sent me a message at 4:40 this morning she is struggling missing home, very depressed, been crying herself to sleep and also having issues with her feet and knees so she’s in pain! She is starting to get discouraged, and she could really use some words of encouragement or some pampering items. Here’s a few things she mentioned that would help pamper and cheer her up: face masks, smell good lotions or socks, healthy snacks like Welch fruit snacks or kind bars or just sending notes!

So, we’re going to also make a care package for this specific soldier. If you have any small healthy snacks, face masks, lotions or unused socks, please bring them in so we can send her a little care package.

Thanks so much!
