An Island for Ukraine Pickup Dinner to benefit the people of Ukraine was a huge success on Saturday, March 19 on Mount Desert Island. Co-hosted by the Bar Harbor (MDI) Rotary Club and the Somesville Union Meeting House, a small but mighty group of workers prepared takeout meals and managed a sale table with jams and jellies, maple syrup, tomato sauce, and pins, magnets, and buttons. Together we raised more than $5,400 to provide relief for the people of Ukraine though the charity United Help Ukraine.
If you missed the dinner and want to support the effort, bring a check to Rotary this week or mail a check to Bar Harbor Rotary at PO Box 701, Bar Harbor, ME 04609. If you want to host your own dinner, I am happy to help you put together an easy and efficient plan. Just ask!
