Dear Rotarians,
We had 29 people come to Dean and Penny’s house for a successful social event last Wednesday evening. A good turnout. We certainly had a full house. Thank you again to the Read’s for hosting. Everyone seemed to be having a great time, even Alan and Amanda’s daughter Zoe. There was enough food and drink for all to enjoy, between what the club provided and was supplemented by guests. I was particularly thankful that almost all who told me they could make it came, and even a few whose plans changed at the last minute were able to join us. It was great to spend time together just enjoying each other’s company and catching up. We missed all of you who weren’t there. Hopefully next time.
We also had a special guest as Rob Jordan, who was in the club many years ago, brought Gabby Ribero, who his family hosted as a Rotary exchange student from Brazil twenty years ago. She lives on a farm just outside Sao Paulo now, works for an aerospace company, has a family and thanked the club and promoted the idea of the Rotary Student Exchange program and how important it was in her life. An inspiring story and a reminder of the international nature of Rotary! She still maintains a strong relationship with the Jordan family and was in Bar Harbor for the wedding of their son, Finn, this past weekend. I hope we can plan something similar soon to get us together. In fact, Lisa Ann Thompson Taylor is thinking of hosting a wine tasting event, perhaps next month, to get us together and have some fun. Maybe learn something too. I hope many of you who couldn’t make it last Wednesday will be able to join us then. I’m looking forward to it. More on that down the road.
This week we meet at noon on Wednesday in the SWH room at the Atlantic Oceanside. We'll hear from Christopher Young, who will share information about the NextGen College Savings plan. I look forward to seeing you then.

President (1) 2022-2023
P.S. Please keep Penny and Dean in your thoughts and prayers as Penny's brother passed away over the weekend.
