Bylaws changes

The following summarizes the changes to the Bylaws adopted by the club at the Club Assembly on May 10:
Article 1. Definitions: Quorum added from RI recommended bylaws
Article 2. Public relations changed to public image
Article 3.6 Adds authority for President to appoint Sergeant-at-Arms
Article 5.2 gives the board flexibility to cancel any meeting, as long as we have at least two meetings per month.
Article 5.3 requires written minutes posted within 2-weeks of the meeting.
Article 6. eliminates fees.
Article 10.7 allows for Associate (or any other type of) membership the board may create.
Article 11. Existing article deleted as already included in the club constitution.
Article 11.
- 11.1 sets forth the importance of attendance and participation
- 11.1(a) establishes a goal of 30% attendance
- 11.1(b) allows 1-hour of participation = 1 meeting attendance makeup
- 11.2 expands the range of makeup from 14 days to 90 days
- 11.3 eliminates the need for members who qualify for the Rule of 85 exemption to apply for that exemption and allows the club Secretary to establish that exemption when members qualify.
- 11.4 deletes the requirement of must attend or makeup 50% and missing 4 meetings in a row as a statement of desire to resign in favor of a goal of 30% with ample opportunity to substitute participation as a meeting makeup as set forth in 11/1 and 11.2
