Hope that you all had a good weekend and are happy, healthy and hopefully with power! Thank you to Carrie Jones for running last weeks evening meeting as I was unable to attend. I heard that everyone had a great time!
I did not hear from anyone within our membership regarding the bed races that are taking place this Saturday the 11th at 10 AM on Cottage Street. I have asked the Interact group if they would like to run the bed and they have accepted and are very excited! Please, if you are in town Saturday morning, stop by and cheer them on!
Our Christmas party committee is working hard to make sure we have another amazing event this year. If you or anyone you know would like to help or donate anything for auction, please contact Susy Del Cid, chair of the committee. This years meeting and auction will take place at McKays Public House next to Lynams on lower Main Street.
We are back at Birch Bay this week and will be welcoming Lisa Horsch Clark to the podium to hear an update about the Foundation branch of the club.
The Rotary Foundation – Recurring Giving Program makes Giving to the Rotary Foundation EASY!
Did you know we have one member who is registered in Rotary Direct?
What is Rotary Direct, you ask? It is a designation that indicates individuals who are enrolled in Rotary's recurring giving program on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. Recurring giving makes it easy and more affordable when you divide up your annual gift into recurring payments that are right for you and your budget.
To sign up, simply select the frequency you want when you make any Rotary gift. See example giving page below:
Our goal is 100% participation with the MDI Rotary Club. All gift sizes and gift purposes are important and will be matched by our club up to $50. To make your gift, simply click here:
When we introduced Rotary Club Central in 2012, it revolutionized goal tracking and planning for clubs and districts — no more filling out paper club-planning forms or passing along boxes of historical club information every time a new leader took office.
Rotary Club Central offered clubs and districts a quantifiable way to begin measuring local and global impact, specifically membership initiatives, service activities, and Rotary Foundation giving.
But as with any technological advancement, in a few short years, Rotary Club Central began to show its age, and Rotarians took notice. They...
At its January 2017 meeting, the Rotary International Board of Directors adopted a new zone structure for Rotary clubs.
Rotary bylaws require the Board to complete a comprehensive review of the 34 Rotary zones no less often than every eight years to ensure that each zone has an approximately equal number of Rotarians. The Board’s previous review of the zones occurred in 2008.
The Board earlier approved the creation of three regional workgroups to develop rezoning proposals for Asia, Europe/Africa, and the Americas. These workgroups comprised one representative (either a current director,...
Through The Rotary Foundation, Rotary members have supported thousands of projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, save mothers and children, support education, and grow local economies. We’ve also led the fight to eradicate polio worldwide. As part of our celebration of the Foundation’s centennial, we’re honoring 20 global grant projects with special recognition.
