Hello all!

It is that time of year again when our club has the opportunity to send two young aspiring leadership folk to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) in Caratunk, Maine, September 15-17th. This is an invaluable program for anyone looking to hone up on their leadership skills while participating in fun leadership building activities which in the past have included outdoor ropes course and white water rafting. If there is anyone in our club or anyone local who you feel is worthy of nomination and is 21-35 years of age and would be interested in going, please let me know as soon as possible as enrollment ends August 18th.

I would also like to remind everyone that there is our evening meeting at Mama DiMateo's THIS Wednesday starting at 5 PM, BRING A FRIEND. There will also be a brief introductory membership committee meeting just before at 4:45, also at Mama DiMateo's. Hope to see you all there, have a great week!

REMINDER

... is going to be 15 minutes before the start of the Aug 2, evening meeting, which will be at Mama DeMatteos.

This meeting is really just going to be a quick meet-up so I can tell you about the vision for membership this year and we can all (or as many of us as possible) can determine if this is a good time for the rest of the year or not.

If you have kiddos, it is totally fine for them to hang out during this meeting. We are a kid friendly committee.

UPDATE/REMINDER

PLEASE NOTE: Martha has not heard from anyone about serving on the committee and would really like to hear from at least 2-3 more people.

There will be a meeting of the Public Image Committee on Monday, August 7th, at 5 pm at my home (119 Seabury Drive in Salisbury Cove). We have some very BIG shoes to fill now that Carrie is transitioning off the committee, and I'm looking for volunteers to help me continue the great job that Carrie has done for our club! One of our newest members, Aurora Hilton, has already volunteered (thanks Aurora!). Please let me know if you're interested in serving on the Public Image Committee, and if you are, please let me know if you can attend this meeting.

Rotary International Board adopts new zone structure
At its January 2017 meeting, the Rotary International Board of Directors adopted a new zone structure for Rotary clubs. Rotary bylaws require the Board to complete a comprehensive review of the 34 Rotary zones no less often than every eight years to ensure that each zone has an approximately equal number of Rotarians.
