This Wednesday, our night meeting is at the incredible Seal Cove Auto Museum! Please join us as we mingle, drink, and eat some snacks amidst the fantastic motor vehicles. Many of our Rotary Club members are also members or board members of the Seal Cove Auto Museum and this casual meeting is a perfect chance to check out the museum’s offerings and we’re pretty lucky that we get to have the place all to ourselves. If you haven’t been there for a while, I think you’ll be really impressed with what Raney Bench, her staff and her board have done.

 

I know that you might be thinking that it’s a bit of a drive, after dark, to the auto museum, but I think you would be pleasantly surprised to know that from Bar Harbor to Seal Cove is approximately 15 miles, give or take a couple, depending upon from where you start. And not only that, there are Rotarians who are willing to drive you! Sharon Broom and Barbara Fox are meeting at the Kebo Valley Golf Course parking lot at 4:40 p.m. if you’d like a ride over to the Seal Cove Auto Museum. Just meet them there and experience a chauffeur driven ride of the quality that one may expect if you were riding in one of the fine touring cars on display in the museum.

 

So, there’s no good excuse not to go! I can’t wait to see you there!

 

This week is also the official World Interact Week. Clubs around the world are celebrating the impact of approximately 500,000 Interact members. I know I just recently exclaimed about our own amazing Interact Club at the MDI High School, but please try to find a way to thank these students and their advisors (Heather Chute Dillon and Sue Kropff) for the amazing work they constantly do in this community and beyond. About 80% of the world’s countries have Interact Clubs and Interact has been serving and leading their communities for 54 years. That’s an awesome legacy, and I’m positive that our Interact Club is one of the best. If you think of any ways that we can thank them or involve them more with our club and our club’s events, please let me know.

Speaking of club events, the Bar Harbor Pajama Day Sale and Bed Races are coming up on Nov. 12. Please let Carrie know (carriejonesbooks@gmail.com) if you’d like to race or help decorate the float. The bed race has recently been a great way to share our message to the community and to involve Rotarians and Interactors in a fun, joint event.
